Sneak Peek at Craft Show Items

There’s a sneak peek at some of the items I’ve made for my first craft show, which is titled, “Out of the Dust.” It’s an African themed craft show. These six little animal nursery hoops are my favorite items I will be selling at the craft show. I hand embroidered the animal printed fabric and painted each frame to match the embroidery design of each hoop. No embroidered hoop is the same. Each embroidered hoop has its own unique landscape. I wish I could keep them all. I am keeping the little red elephant with water coming out of its trunk, to some day display in my future baby’s room.

DIY Laminated Business Cards

I’ve been thinking of making these clear, okay laminated, business cards for a while and with my first craft show coming up in about a week I thought it would be the perfect time to bust these out. The concept of the business cards, other than having a fun, party feel to them, is the cut out confetti and strips of information to appear like there actually on the surface the business cards are placed on.

Supplies: Business card laminated pouches or self-sealing laminated pouches, both which you can find at your local office supply store, scissors, hole puncher, paper with business card information, and colorful construction paper.

1. Print out a sheet with all the information you want on your business cards.

2. Make confetti by hole punching colorful construction paper and let confetti fall randomly inside the laminated pouch.

3. Cut business card information into strips and place inside laminated pouch. If strips are not straight, it’s okay, it gives the business cards a better effect of paper just thrown on a surface.

4. Place laminated pouches with cutout paper in an empty laminated pouch so the cutout paper doesn’t fall out or move in the pouches while you take them to your local office supply store to get them laminated. Or, if using self-sealing pouches, just seal them.

I used laminated pouches not self-sealing pouches. The lady at Staples where I got my business cards laminated said it would cost 10 cents each to get the cards laminated since I would be only paying a serve charge and I already had the laminated pouches. Luckily for me, the day I went to get the business cards laminated the lady at the copy center was very busy and she let me laminate my own cards and didn’t charge me a thing.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial and find other cool paper cutouts to put in your laminated business cards.
