From Belle: Mom & Dad Saved A Life Three Years Ago

I ate dog cake on Wednesday! Oh, getting ahead of my dogself but it’s me Belle! Three years ago, mom and dad adopted me in front of Petsmart. That’s how they saved my life. Mom counts my adoption day as my birthday.

When mom got home from work on Wednesday and mentioned “cookie” to dad I knew “cookie” was for me. Mom got me “The Original PUP-PIE Natural Wheat & Corn Free Pie-Shaped Treat for Dogs” from Petsmart. Wow, that was a mouthful. Mom showed me my cake and I was dieing to eat it. Sesame seed sprinkles, frosting, pumpkin and peanut butter oven baked cake…give me, give me, give me! Peanut butter is my fav!

Camera came out and I was like, “no mom just give me my cake!” To make matters worse she took out one of my birthday hats from my first birthday party for me to wear. I tried to shake it off but mom was determined for me to keep it on. Once I got a sniff of my cake I didn’t care about the hat anymore. What hat? I got to eat three delicious slices.

As I write this, I’m eating another slice of cake. Don’t tell mom. It’s our little secret.

Day 10 of Creative Christmas: From Belle

Belle here! I’m the beautiful furry beast that resides in this house.

On Christmas day, my crazy lovable mom decided I should give out gifts to my dog friends and family. That’s mom for you. I only agreed because I got to sample the oatmeal dog treats again while she put everything together. Sorry about the burry picture. I don’t know why mom insists in taking pictures of me while I’m eating. I’m too busy enjoying my treat to concentrate on looking cute and adorable.

Mom made the oatmeal treats from a dog treat kit grandma gave me. She made extra treats than the box stated and unfortunately was told I was going to have to share with my friends. I did get to sample those fresh out of the oven though and Dad sunk some out of the container for me. Don’t tell Mom.

Mom can never make things simple. She took out the left over cards from my dog birthday party to use as dog Christmas cards. With my help, she wrote a little Christmas message in the cards. I came up with “Have a Barking good Christmas.” Yes, I’m clever and beautiful. Dogs don’t have a Merry Christmas, there’s always some type of barking involved. Each card was signed with my paw signature. I tell you; those dogs of mine are lucky to be my friends. Okay, and vise versa.

Mom wants to make dog treats for Valentine’s Day too. “Deal” I said! I’ll do anything for a treat.

Gotta go, Mommy has a treat for me! Hopefully, you’ll hear from me again soon.

Dog Party

In September, I threw Belle her first (seven in dog years) birthday party.

It was suppose to be at the park but it was very windy that day and it was moved to my house instead. I made custom birthday invitations for her party. Click here to see the invitations.

Things I made to make her party a memorable one:

Balloons, hats, napkins, and plates that said, “Bitch Party” or “My Bitches,”

Dog trivia on Belle,

Peanut butter dog cupcakes,

Doggie goody bags for guests to take back to their dogs,

 Pin-back cupcake toppers,

 Mini Polaroid with photo holder for prizes,

Custom dog keychain party favors,

 And thank you cards with Belle’s signature (her paw print).

Belle and her guests had a great time. Belle even showed them the tricks she knows how to do. She got lots of toys and couldn’t decide which one to play with. She would pick one up then drop it to get another one. She looked extremely happy that I’m tempted to throw her another one.

Just The Three Of Us

My husband and I rarely get days off together due to his work schedule. I had requested two days off of work but it just happened that my plans for those days fell through and I got to spend much needed family time with my husband and my dog Belle.

On day one off, Belle got her first and much needed fur cut. She looks so much younger with her hair shorter. My husband barbecued hamburgers and sausages and we listen to some good music as we enjoyed our alcoholic beverages, since we didn’t have to work the next day. We finished the night crashing on the couch watching scary movies on Netflicks.

On day two off I became addicted to cross-stitching. My husband declared our last day together off lazy day. He said it was too hot to go anywhere. So, I took out a cross-stitching kit called, “My 1st Stitch” which I purchased at Joann’s fabric and craft store and began to teach myself to cross-stitch. Cross-stitching is the easiest thing ever and you can do it while watching TV without worrying about pricking yourself with the needle. I haven’t even finished my first cross-stitching project and I already purchased two more kits online.

I enjoyed our two days off together very much even if we did just stay at home. I promise my hubby that once a month I would request two days off when he’s home so we can send more quality time together.

Belle, Puppy Education Graduate

Yesterday, Belle my 9-month year old dog graduated from puppy training class! I am so proud since I had my reservations whether she was going to graduate at first, since she wouldn’t listen to a word I said. Now, she knows how to sit, down, stay, leave it, shake (with both paws), and turn left and turn right. In March, she will be going back to school at PetSmart for intermediate class. I think it is important to put any dog, especially at an early age, through puppy training classes because it avoids disasters in the home and better communication between you and your dog. I’ve heard too many stories of dogs being taken to the pound to be put to sleep because their owners didn’t take the time to train their pets so they won't destroyed their home. I’m glad my husband and I put Belle into puppy training classes and we get so excited watching her learn you tricks. Graduations Belle!
