Friday Frida Favs: Thank You Frida Swap Giveaway

Congratulation to mydarlingplanner, from Instagram, for winning Bee Creative Swap's Frida Pin Giveaway!

The next giveaway will be the Thank You Frida Swap Giveaway. It will be held throughout the whole Viva La Frida Swap. This giveaway is open to Frida swap participants ONLY. This is another perk for joining the swap, as well as receiving discounts from six Etsy sellers from my "My Frida Wish List on Etsy 2017" post.  This giveaway is very easy to enter, since it's stuff that is already expected of you as a Viva La Frida Swap participant. To enter you must submit all your check-ins on time, without Emily or I having to contact you because you are running behind.

Below are the Instagram check-in dates:
April 15th: Mosaic Photo Check-In (due tomorrow)
May 1st: Material Check-In
May 15th: Sneak Peak Check-In
June 1st: Sneak Peak Check-In
June 15th: A photo of your boxed up items, shipping receipt, or other proof of shipment
Don't forget to use the #vivalafridaswap2017 when posting your check-ins on Instagram.

Even being one day late posting your check-ins will unfortunately disqualify you from the giveaway. This giveaway is our way of saying, "Thank you" for making our job as swap hosts a little easier.

I have collected two Frida inspired items for this giveaway and I hope to include a little something made by yours truly. Currently, the giveaway prizes include the second Frida Kahlo pin donated by Badges by Ryan and a Viva La Vida Frida vinyl sticker from Mis Nopales Art. Both items are from Etsy sellers. I purchased the Frida sticker from Kick Stater to help with Mis Nopales Art's Frida campaign. I'm a big supporter of helping fellow artists.

I love seeing the Frida Kahlo themed mosaics posted on Instagram so far. Click here to see the mosaics posted. Of course, my favorite part will be seeing the wonderful crafts created that are inspired by Frida Kahlo.

I hope we have many entries for the Thank You Frida Swap Giveaway. Don't forget, your first check-in is due tomorrow. Good luck and happy crafting!

I become obsessed with Frida Kahlo enamel pins last year, when I purchased one for my Viva La Frida swap partner and myself. While searching through Instagram using the #fridakahlo and on Etsy, I found lots of Frida Kahlo enamel pins designed by many talented artists.

One of those talented Etsy artists is Ryan, from Badges by Ryan. I featured his Frida Kahlo enamel pin on my first Friday Frida Favs post for this year, "My Frida Wish List on Etsy 2017." Ryan is a very generous person who has donated one of his awesome Frida Kahlo pins for Bee Creative Swaps to giveaway.

Olvera Street Giveaway

One of my favorite things I did at Olvera Street in Los Angeles was shop from the vendors. Shop for me, shop for friends, and shop for one lucky winner! One lucky winner will win a wooden La Catrina hand painted bookmark. It is number 3 in my loot of Olvera Street goodies.

My Olvera Street goodies include
1. Mini piggy bank. I wanted to get a normal size one but these Mexican piggy banks don’t have a cork on the bottom to pull your money out. 2. Diego and Frida t-shirt. I was surprised when I discovered that two of my favorite Etsy shop owners sell their items at Olvera Street. 3. La Catrina wooden bookmarks. I purchased one for myself at first and later went back and purchased two more. 4. Olvera Street pin. I try to get a pin everywhere I go to add to my pin collection. 5. Worry doll headband. I’ve been wearing more headbands since I cut my hair short. 6. Puppet doll. I promised my employee Alex that I would get him something with a mustache since he has a mustache. I saw the puppet and it reminded me of him. 7. “En Este Casa…La Reyna Cocina Rico” plaque. It says, “The queen cooks good in this house.” It’s my little motivational plaque to help me keep cooking. 8. Owl ornament. My co-worker Amanda loves owls and I got it for her for her birthday next month. 9. Nativity Ornament for my Christmas tree. 10. Cat earrings from another one of my favorite Etsy sellers

What Olvera Street item is your favorite?

Giveaway Rules:
1. Leave a comment below telling me what your favorite item from my Olvera Street goodies is.
2. Leave your email in the comment, so I can contact you if you win.
3. Contest ends August 31st.

Bad Day, Good Day

Yesterday, I had a very interesting day. At work, the chaos began with a black out. The bad, good, and ugly can out of working in customer service. I had understanding customers and those that just make you want to walk out and say, "I quit!" But lucky, I work with a great group of people, that like myself try to play it cool under pressure. At least, I can admit that the sucky parts of my job has made me learn how to think quick on my feet. After the storm was over, I though to myself... well I can finally use those Dookey Key Covers that I was saving for a crappy day to do a giveaway on my blog.

So, here it goes...

DOOKEY KEY COVER GIVEAWAY!

The FIRST 4 PEOPLE who leave me a comment sharing a crappy day they had and how it got better, if it did, will get 1 Dookey Key Cover. Please don't forget to included your email address so I may contact you for your mailing address. I know that there's 6 key coves but I am keeping one for myself and mailing one out to my brother for his work keys. He has crappy work days too.

When I arrived home from work and read my emails, like always, I was thrilled to see that one of my headbands from my new Etsy shop "Que Bownita" was included in a treasury titled, "Ready to Play??" The treasury reminds me of the fun, bright, and happy childhood colors. Talk about a nice surprise after a crazy work day.

While typing this post and trying to link everything. I noticed that someone else included another one of my headband on a Etsy treasury! Wow, what a turn of events! I'm so excited! This treasury is titled, "Newbies - New shops - Support Handmade."

I hope everyone has a great today!
