I can't believe I have decided to participate in another swap with all my school work load! But, I thought this would be a good opportunity for me to take little breaks between studying. It's a stitch swap and I just found out about it the other day. It's not too late to enter if you are interested. You have to hurry though, it closes today at 6pm. To & From My Valentine Craft Swap Partner
On Monday, February 6th, I received a package from Patti my Valentine’s Craft Swap partner. Oh Strumpets! blog put the Valentine swap together. The package had already made my day before I even opened it. I quickly tore the package open to uncover a beautiful homemade scrapbook to put pictures of my firefighter and I and a colorful bracelet to match my colorful personality. Everything was lovely even the packaging the bracelet was in. When I saw the scrapbook I told my firefighter, “Look at this cool album my awesome craft swap buddy made for me!” Every page in the album is unique and nicely made. I can’t wait to fill it with pictures! Thank you Patti! You’re the best!
Now, that the swap is complete I can reveal what I made for Patti. I enjoyed embroidering this cute saying, “A Beach Girl Lives Here With Her Big Kahuna” for Patti, a huge beach and “Dream Boy” lover. I also sent Patti a beach charm for her bracelet charm collection.

Every swap I do keeps getting better and better. Not only do I get an awesome homemade gift I also make a friend.

Because I Love My Readers
If some of you recall my blog celebrated it’s first birthday/anniversary in January and I had an anniversary gift contest for all my followers, which Jen won. I decided to give a reader a gift for giving me the gift of following my blog. I promised I would make the winner a gift made especially for them. I went onto Jen’s blog, Skinned Knees and read all her posts to get to know her. “Skinned Knees” is a very inspiration blog, “about promoting positive body image, eating disorder recovery, sex-positivity, and feminism.” Jen is a very beautiful, strong, and brave woman to share her ups and downs as she struggles with her own body image, in return teaching her readers to love themselves for who they are.
This is what I made Jen, a hand painted feel good brooch/ornament. Everything about the brooch was inspirited by her life.
I was glad to hear that Jen loved her brooch so much. The brooch, which I titled, “Beautiful You” was made with so much love because I love my readers!
Update: Jen wrote a post, Some Well-Deserved Love, about her brooch, check it out!

My 30th Birthday
On Groundhog’s Day, Thursday, February 2nd was my 30th birthday. Even though I had to go to my Phlebotomy class early in the morning and go to the doctors' for a student physical, my day turned out wonderful! My husband and I usually treat each other to an expensive dinner at a restaurant for our birthdays but this year he decided to make me a delicious three-course dinner instead, appetizer, salad, and a rack of lamb dinner. Poor thing was salving way in the kitchen all day. The whole meal turned out great and the food looked like it would have been made in an expensive restaurant.
For dessert we had carrot birthday cake that I bought for myself. Yes,
you read that right; I bought it for myself. I knew my husband wouldn’t
buy me one and I wanted cake for my birthday so I got myself one. We
ended the night watching a scary movie, “Quarantine 2: Terminal” on
Netflix.
At work the next day, my co-worker Anne surprised me with a birthday
cake made out of cupcakes. The cake reminded me of the movie “Up,” one
of my favorite animated films by the way. My staff sang me “Happy
Birthday.” Anne also got my balloons and a pink sock monkey.
Guess turning 30 wasn’t too bad after all.
